Picking up Trash for Trails: 2005
Can you believe another Hay Days has come and gone. As always, I had
another fun year as trash master out at Hay Days. Looking back I realize
this would not be possible if it wasn't for so many things. To start,
one great club full of great members who come together for a couple of
days and pull off something that most people say is unbelievable. We
keep the grounds so clean it looks like nothing ever took place. All of
you members that were out there, and helped get things set up, GREAT
JOB!!! I could never thank everybody enough for all you have done. It
really makes a job easy when you have a club like ours. Usually by now
most have forgotten how hot it was, how dirty we got, how sore we were
for the few days that followed that weekend. All we can remember is how
much fun it was and also start looking forward to next year. It is
amazing the transformation that takes place in 4 to 5 days out at the
grounds. From a flat hay field, to a small city, back to a field again,
and NO garbage left at all. When we do make our final sweep on Wednesday
evening, I drive across the grounds and just shake my head. It is hard
to believe any thing took place at all. Then I remember the weekend, the
club, the members, the friends and food, and I say to myself I was glad
to be a part of it. We are already starting to plan a few things new for
next year, and have talked to the Barons about a few changes I would
like to see. I'm sure many of us will relive many moments of the weekend
while we are talking to friends at the fall party, so that's another
great time you shouldn't miss. Once again I would like to say thank you
to each and every one of you that had a part of making this years Hay
Day a success.
